Considered the jewel of the Americans, the state of Wisconsin not only gave the world the Green Bay Packers football team, but also the frozen custard, a frozen dessert from the ice cream group that presents some peculiarities in its tasting: texture, natural ingredients and, the greatest of all details, exclusivity. With the mystique of “a special flavour a day”, this gem was restricted to the United States until Maceió received, last December, the Milkee Brazilian Custard.
“We have a product with high added value. It’s not just the quality and first-class ingredients. It’s the specific machine for custards, which we import from the United States. The cost of making gelato is five times the cost of making ice cream, and the cost of making custard is five times the cost of making gelato. In Maceió, we offer a product of the highest quality, without competitors in Brazil and at a fair price for the market”, explains Alexander Petersen, partner investor of Milkee.
The flavours can be enjoyed in a variety of ways: glass, cone, milkshake, banana split- or even strawberry or peach split – and the normal and kids versions of the traditional sundae.
“We also have alcoholic versions of our ice creams, with top quality wines, rum, vodka and sparkling wines. And yet the egg muffin, made with real muffin bread, accompanied by Starbucks coffee for breakfast or mimosa for brunch”, adds Wesley Pacheco, general manager of Milkee, calling attention to another real American drink, orange juice with sparkling wine.
NFL Playoffs
As a true piece of the United States in Maceió, Milkee will also be the place to follow the NFL playoffs, the semi-finals of the traditional American football championship. But not just any game, you have to cheer for the home team, the Green Bay Packers, another Wisconsin jewel.
“We will have free nachos during the match and our bar will open one hour before and one hour after the game, including beer sales. Whenever Green Bay plays, we will have the live broadcast, packed with frozen custard with a touch of flavours from Alagoas. Likewise with basketball, when the Milwaukee Bucks, defending NBA champions, come to play. We will always be rooting for the home teams!” invites Wesley.
