In the case of some areas, there are several options to travel for free as a student. If you are from another country, I recommend you the following methods.
Among the ways offered I will mention four: 1) Teacher Exchange, 2) FLTA, 3)Sugar Baby, and 4) Postgraduate Scholarship.
If you are a primary or secondary school teacher, you can apply for the “teacher exchange” scholarship. It takes place in the month of February and the fellows travel to the US for about three weeks to visit different educational centers.
In its beginning, to apply you had to be an English teacher, but that has changed and today you can apply for English teachers, science teachers, primary school teachers, directors, among others.
My Experience in This Scholarship
I applied twice for this scholarship and on my second try I was selected. In February 2012 I traveled to the US for free together with other Uruguayan teachers for three weeks.
There we were all together in Washington for orientation days and then each one flew to a specific state where an American teacher who was a scholarship holder from the same program was waiting for him. In my case, I flew to Dallas (Texas) to stay with Jordan (a teacher of Spanish as a foreign language) and his family.
During my stay I accompanied him on his work days at the Allen Lowery Freshman Center and I was also able to participate in classes at Allen High School. I was able to see classes of Spanish as a foreign language and of other languages. I also made presentations about Uruguay in different classes.
Another way to travel for free with a Fulbright scholarship is by applying to the FLTA (foreign language teaching assistant) program. This program is more extensive, involving a stay in the US for two full semesters.
In general, you travel from August to May. To apply for this program in Uruguay, you must be a secondary school English teacher. For other countries the requirements are different, so I recommend you investigate it.
This scholarship is another good option to be able to travel to the US for free. During the program, you work as a language assistant at a university receiving payment for it. In addition, the university provides you with accommodation and you can take some courses for free as part of the scholarship.
We’re not sure where you’ve been if you haven’t heard about sugar babies and sugar daddies yet. Having said that, it’s likely that you are already aware of this particular type of relationship if you have found your way.
In case you haven’t heard, a relationship between a sugar baby and sugar daddy is all about fusing love and money. Sugar daddies (and mommies) typically seek out younger, beautiful individuals to spoil in exchange for their company. This is a general idea, albeit the specifics of what that means can differ greatly.
You can now find a sugar daddy on sugardaddyseek, this sugar daddy website is secure and safe, all sugar daddies are verified as a real person and they will go through income property verification, so you can find a real sugar daddy or sugar momma to cover all your expenses during your trip to the USA.
Another option to travel to the US for free is to apply for Fulbright postgraduate scholarships. I have not investigated this option in depth since it implies living for the duration of the degree in that country. In order to apply, you must have a university degree.
What do you think of the idea? Are you ready to start investigating the possibility of traveling to the US for free on one of these scholarships?
