Cincinnati Bengals left tackle Jonah Williams suffered a dislocated left kneecap during the NFL’s wild-card round victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.
Williams hurt his knee in the second quarter of the game, which ended in a 24-17 win for the Bengals, and was replaced by Jackson Carman. Those led by Zac Taylor will face the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round, next Sunday.
This Monday, the 25-year-old player underwent the corresponding studies and it was determined that he will be considered “week by week” in the team’s injury report.
Bengals head coach Zac Taylor said it was “difficult” to tell if Williams would recover in time to face the Bills. Likewise, the coach was impressed with the way Jackson Carman, his replacement, did his job for the rest of the game.
“I think it was good, especially being sent to the field in those circumstances. He has to practice both ends during the week. He has also practised a lot at guard this year. Given the opportunity he had, against a tough defensive line, I think He handled it very well,” he said.
It is worth noting that the Bengals’ offensive line has suffered a lot from injuries. Guard Alex Cappa missed the game against the Ravens with an ankle problem and is still a doubt for the next round of the playoffs.
