The Limited Inc. announced Thursday that its chairman, one of the nation’s wealthiest individuals, is engaged.
Leslie H. Wexner, 55, plans to marry Abigail S. Koppel, 30, an attorney who specializes in mergers and acquisitions. The wedding date has not yet been set.
From a single store with annual sales of $200,000 to a nationwide chain of more than 4,200 speciality stores with 1991 sales of $6.1 billion, Wexner founded The Limited in 1963. Victoria’s Secret, Lane Bryant, Henri Bendel, Lerner New York, Abercrombie & Fitch, Express, and Cacique are among the company’s divisions.
In 1991, Fortune magazine estimated Wexner’s net worth at $2.5 billion.
Ms Koppel is an attorney at Davis Polk Wardwell. After working in the firm’s London office from October 1988 to January 1990, she joined its New York office.
According to The Limited, the couple met three years ago in London. The marriage would be the first for both.
