According to a press release, eCommerce website Squarespace has acquired Tock a platform that offers online reservations, take-outs, and events for almost 400 million dollars.
The deal came after a year, Tock decided to launch Tock To Go, which allows restaurants and cafes to provide takeout and delivery with just a monthly subscription of 199 dollars plus 2% on orders. According to the Fast Company, this offer has helped Tock double its customer base to almost 7100 restaurants.
This acquisition is a part of Squarespace’s mission to make it easy for people to operate and grow their businesses online. According to the sources, there will not be any major changes in the functioning of Tock, it will operate the way it always has. Tock will remain a standalone business and will be a separate company from Squarespace.
The company was founded in 2014 by Nick Kokonas and Justin Bayer. The main aim of the company is to help businesses take control of their reservations and to provide a better experience for customers. The Tock app has been used by one of the most famous restaurants such as The French Laundry and MomoKufu.
